Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 1, 2026
Seward and Duncan Consulting ("we," "us," "our") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through jsmdconsulting.com and sewardduncan.com (the "Site"), how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have under applicable U.S. state privacy laws including the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the CPRA, the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, the Colorado Privacy Act, the Connecticut Data Privacy Act, and the Utah Consumer Privacy Act.
1. Information we collect
- Information you provide: when you submit the contact form we collect your name, organization, email, phone (optional), how you heard about us, and the message you send us.
- Automatically collected: basic server request data (IP address, browser type, pages visited, referrer, and timestamps) used for security and to keep the site running.
- Cookies and similar technologies: see our Cookie Policy for details.
2. How we use information
- To respond to inquiries and deliver services you request.
- To send transactional emails (e.g., confirmation of your contact submission).
- To operate, secure, and improve the Site.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information for money. We do not use your information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and provide a clear opt-out.
3. Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that help us run the Site and communicate with you (for example, our website hosting provider, our database and authentication provider, and our transactional email provider). These providers are bound by contract to use the information only to provide services to us. We may also disclose information when required by law.
4. Data retention
We keep contact form submissions for as long as needed to respond to your request and to maintain a record of our communications, typically no longer than seven years. Server logs are retained for a limited period for security purposes.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you.
- Access, correct, or delete that information.
- Obtain a copy of your information in a portable format.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and of targeted advertising.
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@jsmdconsulting.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We will verify your identity before responding and reply within the timeframes required by applicable law.
6. Do Not Sell or Share / Global Privacy Control
We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as an opt-out of the sale or sharing of personal information for the browser sending the signal. We did not detect a GPC signal from your browser.
7. Children
The Site is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
8. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data and to promptly address any incident.
9. Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top and, where required, provide additional notice.
